Northern girl living the Southern dream

The Sky High Club

...No, it's not what you think.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a foodie. The promise of good seafood, sushi or a roast polished off with a home made dessert and I'm yours. So when I discovered The Duck and Waffle, a diverse seasonal menu of British tapas, I was in foodie heaven.

It also helps that it's on the 40th Floor of the Heron tower with the most spectacular views of central London you could ever imagine. And the best part? It's open 24 hours a day. Yes, if you so desire, you can enjoy yellowfin tuna (one of my favourites) and a deep fried Marsbar (another absolute must-have) at 4am or 10pm.

I am lucky enough to have been a few times and cannot stress enough how wonderful it is seeing the sun set over the skyline.

Said yellowfin tuna. Served, naturally, with a large glass of wine.

While my friend Tom was visiting over the Bank Holiday I took him to see the sights.

It can be very difficult to get a reservation and I recommend booking well in advance where possible. I always find it better to phone rather than online book. Both can be done here http://duckandwaffle.com

But if you can't get a reservation fear not. There is a separate bar downstairs on the 39th floor with just as good views and no reservation required. It does get very busy, especially on weekends but again well worth a visit.
