Northern girl living the Southern dream

All Aboard the Tonteria Express

When the girls and I first moved into the new apartment, we made one promise we vowed to keep. No it wasn't to not break the new glassware (Melissa already did that), but to not neglect our dancing shoes.  And because the last couple of weeks had seemed like all work and no play, we decided an evening of drinking and dancing was exactly what we needed to dust off the Monday blues.

So a bellini or two later, we headed into Chelsea. We were running early, it happens once in a blue moon, and so headed over to The Botanist for a quick drink. The girls ordered G&T's while I stuck to a trusty glass of red and we caught up on the weeks news. Even though the girls and I live together, I can go a couple of days without having a proper catch up so it was the perfect location to enjoy a quiet drink. The bar was surprisingly busy of post-work types and groups of young women doing exactly what the girls and I were doing. The drinks menu is as handsome as the staff who serve you, who are almost as polished as the interiors you sit among. This is SW3 after all.

Then we headed next door to Tonteria. A Mexican tequila restaurant which transforms into one of Chelsea's most popular Monday night haunts. Although it's small, it quickly packs out and we were quickly surrounded by people of all ages out to enjoy the brilliant DJ's and vast selection of tequilas. Which arrive just FYI, on a miniature train. On the ceiling. More is more, after all.

I wish I had taken more photos but when I finally arose rather late on Tuesday morning I was faced with a rather bizarre array of blurry black landscapes. So I'm posting a few from before and leaving you to discover the rest. You won't disappointed.
