Northern girl living the Southern dream

The Future Vintage Charity Gala

I've been writing for The Future Vintage, or TFV as its fondly known to those of us who spend hours pouring over research, nattering with emerging talents in the industry and drafting article upon article of information, for the last few months now. And its annual Charity Gala, this year in association with Barnardo's, is one of the most important events in any of our calendars. Getting articles together for the next issue launch has consumed much of my time for the last few months and the thought of seeing it all come together with colleagues, clients and old friends was the perfect wednesday evening in the city.

I've been taking a break from London life recently, so I was aching to get back ahead of the gala to catch up with friends and get outfit ready. So I could hardly resist catching up with my date for the evening, and fellow fashion journalist Gem at one of my favourite restaurants in town.

If you haven't heard of Burger and Lobster then you mustn't be a Londoner, for as soon as it came onto the scene, like with Cara D in the modelling world, or Mary K in the design world, everyone wanted it. The concept is simple. No menu, three options. Burger, Lobster, or Lobster roll. £20 each. From there there's an extensive cocktail menu devised by the talented (and oh so attractive) barmen of the original restaurant in Mayfair. Because of it's exceptional popularity there are now restaurants in Farringdon, St Pauls and Soho, which is where Gem and I, laden with plastic bibs and a lifetime's supply of serviette's, tucked into our lobster.

And while playing with food is very bad manners, I couldn't resist when it came to lobster claw!
All Burger and Lobster information is here http://www.burgerandlobster.com and while it's worth mentioning that you can't pre book, it's an absolute must for any first time Londoners or date night!

Feeling sufficiently full from crustacean bliss, we headed home to prepare for a true night of fashion with a cause!

The event itself was held at The Music Room in Mayfair, with an afterparty at Aura. With commitments the following day I had to miss an after party (unheard of usually I know), but Gem and I ensured we made the most of the Fashion, and Champagne, on offer while acknowledging the truly wonderful work of Barnardo's
 I wore dress, Asos
Blazer, Topshop
and the nail varnish is a fabulous Chanel summer hue
