London Fashion Week is the biggest five days in the calendar of every fashion writer/illustrator/photographer/blogger/editor 's diary, and when the worlds finest fashion press descend on London for five days of catwalks, parties and presentations. And while usually I'm dashing around London interning, this season Pippa had managed to secure us tickets to a few shows. So on a sunny Saturday, Melissa and I headed out for our first morning of shows.
Our first show was Yifang Wan, showing only for the second time in London and we were excited to see what was on offer. We were running early so sat in the press lounge sipping on Pomegranate coconut water and sweet and salty popcorn while listening to the usual hum of fashion excitement.
The collection took utilitarian to a softer, more accessible level, with flowing silhouettes, dainty shapes and an emphasis on asymmetrical waist detailing. The fabrics were again easy to wear and soft, with supple wood contrasting with knitted mohair. The core colouring was contrasting shades of grey, pale lilac hues mixed with some gleaming silvers and blue tones.
The collection was neat and simple. The cuts were great for workwear and the materials were cool and safe. An excellent first collection for demonstrating the maturity of a designer.
